Baroness' Masked Ball

Location: Coyote Grange Hall, 8140 Monterey Road, Coyote, CA 95013

Site Information: Site opens at 12pm, Site closes at 10pm
Site fee: $5 (+$5 Non Member Surcharge). Please make checks payable to "SCA/Barony of Darkwood"

Refreshments: There will be a side board (not a feast) Please feel free to bring food for the side board, as it will be the grazing table for the entire event!

Cooking Competition: Cooks, please bring your favorite Middle Eastern(ish) dish. Something tasty for the populous to taste and vote on! (food will be added to the side board after voting concludes.)

Masked Ball: It cannot be a Masked Ball without MASKS!!! This years theme for masks is "Be Creative" The Baroness has thrown this contest wide open for the people of Darkwood (and guests from far off lands) to show off their imaginations. 

Dancing: There will be both Middle Eastern and Western dance at this ball. There will be instruction on beginning belly dance! 

Bring your Drums!!! We will have a beginning drumming tutorial as well as many opportunities for drumming.

Entertainment: Performances by the Carnival of the Phenix, The Bard of the Oak (and company) Storytelling and Games!

Please bring your games.

From the North: Take Highway 101 south toward Morgan Hill, take the Bailey Ave. exit, turn right on Bailey Ave., then:
From the South: Take Highway 101 north towards San Jose, take the Bailey Ave. exit, turn left on Bailey Ave., then:

Take the Monterey Road Ramp, turn right onto Monterey Road, site will be on the right.

Hawk's Haven Grand Archery Tournament

Site fee: $8 (+$5 Non Member Surcharge if applicable)

The Canton of Hawks Haven summons and invites all archers and crossbowmen to our annual Medieval Archery Tournament! Test your skills against the best archers of the West Kingdom. Honor, infamy and prizes await those who are the top shot. We will be running Royal Rounds & will submit scores to IKAC. Those who wish to vie for that coveted honor of “The Hood” of Darkwood may also compete. Prizes will be awarded to the three highest scores in each bracket. We also invite the legendary chefs and bakers of the West Kingdom to come and compete in: "A Taste of Hawks Haven: The Grand Cullinary Competition". Prepare your most delicious period dish and bring it for the populous to taste and vote on. Glory and prizes await the one who can create the most epic and delicious dish!

Directions:
Take Highway 101 to the Tennant Ave exit in Morgan Hill. If you are northbound on 101, turn left and cross the overpass. If you are southbound, turn right on Tennant. Tennant becomes Edmundson when you cross Monterey Road. Turn left on Sunnyside. Turn right on Sycamore. Machado School is on the left after you cross a narrow bridge.


Montagne du Roi Prize Tourney

Come and join us as we start the tourney season. MdR will hold a tourney to determine the new champion of our Canton, and for the fun of it, all are welcome to join us in the fun. There will be prizes for the winners of the rapier and heavy lists that will keep those lucky fighters warm and stylish on those cold beltane nights. In addition to the prize lists, we will be holding a children tourney. Please bring your child's gear so that all can participate. Our soup kitchen will be serving both meat and vegetarian soups to fortify all during the days activities.
